NBA Conference Finals!!

So it comes down to these final four teams: Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks.  I’ll briefly break down the play so far of the teams left and the chances each one has to win it all.

Eastern Conference Finals

Atlanta Hawks – The Hawks haven’t looked like themselves in the first tow round of the playoffs, but the result is till making it to the Eastern Finals for the first time in team history.  After a Paul Pierce three was waved off to save the Hawks from overtime against the pesky Wizards, there is no doubt that it will take a return to mid-season form for the Hawks to get past the injury-riddled Cleveland Cavaliers.  The Hawks will have to look like the “Spurs East” that they were dubbed this season for them to match the Cavaliers offensively.

Cleveland Cavaliers – It was supposed to be the era of the new Big 3 in Cleveland, but Kevin Love is out for the season and Kyrie Irving may not be 100 percent by gametime Wednesday.  If Irving can’t be his offensively explosive self as he continues to deal with knee and foot injuries, can King James muster enough of his championship experience to get to another NBA Finals?

My prediction: Cavaliers defeat the Hawks in six games.  The reign of King James continues as he goes to his fifth-straight NBA Finals.

Western Conference Finals

Houston Rockets – The most unlikely candidate for the conference finals after trailing by double figures to the L.A.Clippers in an elimination game.  The Rockets now come in as the hottest team in the playoffs, winners of three straight must-win games to oust the Clippers in Game 7.  Now the Rockets face the challenge of the Splash brothers and the underrated Warrriors defense.  Will Josh Smith continue his strong playoff showing?

Golden State Warriors – After a slow start against the Grizzlies, the Warriors seemed to find their mojo and shooting touch.  They looked like the championship favorites they were predicted to be in the final games of the second round.  If the Warriors defense can control Howard and Harden, it may be a very short series indeed.

My prediction: Golden State in five games. We get a Cavs versus Warriors 2015 NBA Finals. Not too shabby.
